In the Lot district, one of the least peopled french "departements" which has managed to keep its native tang characteristics and his authenticity, and where the life has remained an art.-

Martine et Michel VILLEDIEU, neo-rural farmers (not from those who, in 1968 have given in breeding goats but yet, not far from it), We have fallen in love with the Lot area and have decided to make you share this happyness. |
We have got THREE METHODS to bring an alien* to know and therefore to fall in love with the Lot area.
(*) alien or in old local French "estranger" : usual term for every person born more than 50 kilometers from Figeac.
Farmers and crammers of ducks with preserve making done on the farm, we produce withe the most traditional methods what is agreed to consider as one of the best foie gras in the district ( and therefore in the world! ). A meal in our Inn Farm? It's difficult to choose between this foie gras, the duck's fillets, cassoulet, conserve etc.. all of them from our own production. And the truffles, I was about to forget to mention the truffles!
We are not making ourselves the little "cabecou" or "rocamadour" (excellent goat cheeses of the area)
Neither do we produce the Cahors wine which goes whith them,
But we will give you, quite willingly, the adresses.
Even if only for one week end, even for one night
To settle in one of our B&B rooms, in a part of a typical farm built at the end of the XVIII th century with "dry stones". The silence is amazing! Of course there is no TV set and, thanks God, the area is not yet accessible by portable telephone networks.
When you wake up, in full nature, you will have a bath in the estate swimming pool. Then you will be ready after a good breakfast, for a hicking on St Jacques of Compostella paths very close by, or for the visit of a roman church or else....
The only problem: the difficulty to leave at the end of your stay.
The process is simple: let's talk the "estranger" about the Figeac area gastronomy, about the Cahors Wines, about the sweetness of the life around here, about the myriad of things to see, to visit or to go through. He usualy won't resist passing by the Lot area or spending there a whole week end to gratify his or her curiosity.
And of course, he will come back. He can't help it!
